El Minero de El Triunfo is a distinguished restaurant situated in the historic mining town of El Triunfo, Baja California Sur, Mexico. Opened in 2015, it immerses visitors in the region’s rich mining heritage, featuring a unique setting with a spacious outdoor patio overlooking the iconic 47-meter chimney from the mining era. The menu highlights exclusive handcrafted sausages, fresh local seafood, artisanal cheeses, and the acclaimed traditional paella that won first place in the 2015 National Chamber of Restaurants and Food Industry competition. This savory paella is cooked over a mesquite wood fire, combining shrimp, mussels, squid, bay scallops, pork, chicken, chorizo, vegetables, and saffron.
Guests can also enjoy complementary offerings such as root beer floats, locally brewed Baja beers, a curated selection of wines, tequilas, mezcals, and signature cocktails including various margaritas. Situated within the same complex, visitors have access to the Museo Ruta de Plata, which showcases the area’s mining history through quality exhibits, and additional attractions such as Margery’s Tea Room, a Victorian-style tea salon, and Toggle, a sophisticated wine cellar offering national and international wines and cocktails. The appealing bronze sculptures in the patio celebrate local history, creating an engaging atmosphere for diners. El Minero is both a culinary and cultural destination, inviting guests to taste regional flavors while stepping back into the golden age of El Triunfo’s mining past.
